The closing date of the Sew Cool Competition has been extended to the 14th May 2010.

Information for the Sew Cool Junior and Senior Competitions:

Save your image as a jpeg not a bitmap and attach it to your e-mail along with the entry form. It is necessary for the image size to be less than 200kb if possible. Submit a completed entry form with the digital image of your work by 14/05/2009 to the following email address: sewcool@ifhe2010.com 

Terms and Conditions of Entry
• Textile/craft work must be the work of the student and an original piece of work.
• Only one entry is allowed per student.
• There is no entry fee.
• The judges’ decision is final.
• An award ceremony will be held at the IFHE Council 2010 at St. Angela’s College.
• Participants at the award ceremony must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/teacher.
• Firmly attach your name to the back of the project.
• It is a condition of entry that St. Angela's College is given permission to photograph entries and to publish these images to promote the Competition and the work of St. Angela's College.
• If shortlisted in the competition you will be required to post or have your textile/ design and craftwork project delivered to St. Angela’s College by the 7/06/2010.

Submission of entry implies acceptance of the conditions set out above.


Information for the Sew Cool Young Embellisher Competition:

Design and create a sampler which depicts your local area using textile art techniques. You may use a multi-media approach and include any combination of hand/machine embroidery, texturing, felting, weaving or textile painting in your entry design. Completed samplers should measure 30 x30 cm. Samplers submitted must be a finished piece which has a plain fabric backing and 4 ribbon ties (1 cm wide ribbon), one in each corner. You are invited to include with your submission an explanatory statement about the theme (your local area) and a brief explanation of the processes and techniques used. Maximum word count = 200 words

• Textile/craft work must be the work of the student and an original piece of work.
• The entry should not be framed.
• 3D work should not exceed a depth of 1.5cm
• Only one entry is allowed per student.
• There is no entry fee.
• Entries will not be returned as the samplers will be displayed at an exhibition at the IFHE Council 2010 at St. Angela's College and the samplers may feature in future exhibitions.
• The judges’ decision is final.
• An award ceremony will be held at the IFHE Council 2010 at St. Angela’s College.
• Participants at the award ceremony must be accompanied by a parent / guardian / teacher.
• Firmly attach your name to the back of the sampler.
• It is a condition of entry that St. Angela's College is given permission to photograph entries and to publish these images to promote the Competition and the work of St. Angela's College.

Download and complete an entry form and post this with the sampler in a bubble wrap envelope by 14/05/2009 to the following address:
